2018年11月29日、オーストラリア国立公文書館（NAA）は、所蔵資料のデジタル化に用いる基準“Preservation Digitisation Standards : For the digitisation of physical RNA records”を公開しました。
英・電子情報保存連合（DPC）は、2018年11月29日を“World Digital Preservation Day”としてデジタル保存への認知向上に取り組んでおり、今回の公開はそれにあわせたものです。
公開された基準は NAAの“National Digitisation Plan”の下で実施されるデジタル化のための技術的要件を定めたものであり、紙、フィルム、視聴覚資料等の技術的要件が資料類型ごとに示されています。
本文中では、デジタル技術の急速な進展により技術的要件の見直しが必要になる可能性についても触れており、国内外の美術館・図書館・文書館・博物館（GLAM）の基準を踏まえて、毎年基準の見直しを行うべきであるとしています。
