2025年10月16日、ケンブリッジ大学出版局（CUP）が学術出版のオープンアクセス（OA）への移行を巡る課題に焦点を当てたレポート“Publishing futures: Working together to deliver radical change in academic publishing”を公開しました。
120か国から3,000以上の研究者、出版関係者、研究資金提供者、図書館員を対象として実施されたオンライン調査から得られた知見に基づくものとあります。レポートでは、今日の学術出版が抱える課題として、「出版数の増大による負荷」「財政的持続可能性」「公平性の欠如」「質より量を重視する研究評価制度」の四点を挙げ、持続可能かつオープンで公平な学術出版の将来に向けた提言が示されています。
