2024年9月30日、大学出版局、図書館出版社等で構成されるコミュニティ連合体“University-Based Publishing Futures”（UBPF）が発足しました。
UBPFは、大学出版局、図書館出版社、学術出版のインフラストラクチャーをサポートする学術関連プログラムに携わる専門家で構成される、複数のコミュニティによる新しい連合体であると述べられています。世界各国の160余りの大学出版局が参加するAssociation of University Presses（AUPresses）、図書館による出版活動を進める大学図書館のイニシアチブLibrary Publishing Coalition（LPC）のほか、米国を始めとする大学の出版局等が参加しています。
「コミュニティのコミュニティ」として、大学に拠点を置く出版社の間で知識を共有し、最大限の効果を得るためにアウトリーチやアドボカシー活動を調整していくことを目的としているとあります。
