2024年12月18日、図書館による出版活動を進める大学図書館のイニシアティブ“Library Publishing Coalition”（LPC）が、大学・研究図書館の出版活動に関する年鑑“Library Publishing Directory”の2024年版の公開を発表しました。
同年鑑は2014年から刊行されており、LPCのブログでは、この10年間における変化を概観する記事も併せて掲載されています。これによると、2014年と2024年の比較において、図書館出版者のスタッフ数が33%増加したこと、複数の分野でサービスが増加したにも関わらず、目録やメタデータ作成といった従来の図書館サービスの提供は10%以上減少したことなどが指摘されています。
