2020年9月10日、Springer Nature社と研究者向けのSNSであるResearchGateは、2020年第4半期から、2019年に開始された両者による試行プログラムの第2フェーズを、長期的なコンテンツシンジケーション連携へと拡大させると発表しました。
これにより、出版社版（version-of-record ：VoR）の記事を直接ResearchGate上で公表できるようになり、権限のあるユーザーは、Springerのジャーナルに過去5年間に掲載された記事、および 過去3年間のNature Research社のジャーナルを読むことができます。新しい記事は掲載された時点で毎日公開されます。権限のないユーザーは、メタデータ・図・1ページ目・アブストラクト等のみ閲覧可能です。
同日、試行プログラムの第2フェーズの評価を行ったホワイトペーパー“Researchers at the centre: content discoverability, visibility and access”もあわせて公表されています。同ペーパーでは、連携による需要な結果として、権利の識別性の向上、権限のあるユーザーによる定期購読している図書館の把握の容易化、発見可能性の向上、著者からの肯定的な意見、ResearchGate上で公表されたコンテンツの利用増を指摘しています。
