2016年5月27日、学術出版物のオープンアクセスを支援するKnowledge Unlatchedが、“The Knowledge Unlatched Pilot Collection”収録の28の電子書籍の利用統計を公表しました。
2014年3月11日から2016年3月31日までの期間において、約8万件のアクセスがあり、“The Knowledge Unlatched Pilot Collection”が利用可能なプラットフォームであるOAPENを通じた統計は、
・総ダウンロード数：5万4,355件
・1冊あたりの平均ダウンロード数：1,941件
・ダウンロードした国の数：178か国
と紹介されています。
また、同じく利用できるプラットフォームであるHathiTrustを通じた利用統計は、利用統計の国際基準COUNTERに準拠していないとして示されておらず、同じくInternet Archiveにアップロードされたコンテンツの利用統計については提供開始日が不明のため参考数値（2016年4月5日までの総ダウンロード数：6,186件、平均ダウンロード数：221件）のみがあげられています。
