学術出版物の継続的なオープンアクセス（OA）出版を支援するKnowledge Unlatched（KU）が、学術書のOAの試行が成功したのを受けて、その第2ラウンドの開始を発表し、参加を募集していましたが、2016年3月1日、世界中の図書館や図書館コンソーシアムの支援によって、26の出版社の78冊の書籍を公開できるようになったと発表しています。
これにより、2014年の試行以来、100冊以上の書籍がOAとして公開されることになるとのことです。
OAとなった書籍は、OAPENやHathiTrustからpdfをダウンロードできます。
