2025年4月8日付けのSpringer Nature社のブログ記事で、研究評価の現状に関するホワイトペーパー“The State of Research Assessment: Researcher Perspectives on Evaluation Practices”の公開について発表されています。
ホワイトペーパーでは、様々な地域・分野・キャリアステージの研究者約6,600人以上に対して、研究評価についての認識等を調査した結果がまとめられているとあります。
主な調査結果として、全体の55％は自身の研究の全て又は大部分が定量的指標（metrics）によって評価されていると感じていること等が述べられています。
