シカゴ市が、“Teacher In the Library Program”をさらに拡大するとのプレスリリースを出しています。
“Teacher In the Library Program”は、シカゴ公共図書館が行っているプログラムで、放課後の時間帯に図書館に先生を配置し、子どもたちの宿題を支援するというものです。現時点で57館で実施されており、年間12万件の利用があるとのことです。このプログラムを、地元の大学とのパートナーシップにより拡大し、学部学生を先生として、さらに21館に配置するとのことです。
