2020年3月10日、仏・高等教育・研究・イノベーション省（MESRI）のオープンサイエンス国家計画の一環として設置されているオープンサイエンス委員会（Le comité pour la science ouverte）は、SCOSSを通して資金調達を実施中の3種類のオープンサイエンス基盤サービスへ総額45万ユーロの支援を実施することを発表しました。
SCOSSはMESRIやSPARC Europe等も参加する、非営利のオープンアクセス（OA）・オープンサイエンスサービスの資金調達支援のための国際的な連合体です。オープンサイエンス委員会は、現在SCOSSの援助対象となっている、オープン書誌データ・引用データの普及を目指すインフラサービスOpenCitations、オープンソースの出版システムを開発・提供する複数大学のイニシアチブPublic Knowledge Project（PKP）、OAの査読済単行書のダイレクトリDOABへ支援することを表明しています。支援額の内訳は、OpenCitationsが25万ユーロ、PKPが7万5,000ユーロ、DOABが12万5,000ユーロです。
オープンサイエンス委員会によるSCOSSへの財政支援は、2019年9月に創設されたオープンサイエンス国家基金（Le Fonds national pour la science ouverte：FNSO）から行われています。
