2017年7月6日、英・Jiscは、大学や学界主導の学術出版に関する近年の動向についてまとめた報告書“Changing publishing ecologies: A landscape study of new university presses and academic-led publishing”を公開しました。
英国では、学術出版への新規参入が増加し、学術コミュニケーション環境へ影響を与える可能性があることから、Jiscでは、2016年から、学界主導の学術出版事業（ALPs）や新しい大学出版や図書館主導の事業（NUPs）を含む組織的な出版に焦点をあてた研究プロジェクトを立ち上げており、今回の報告書はその成果となっています。
報告書では、近年の米国・欧州・オーストラリアにおける図書館による出版事業に関する文献レビューや、国際的な学界主導の出版事業、及び、それらの現状及び将来的な方向性が紹介されています。
Jicsによる、OAPEN-UK、National monograph strategy、Investigating Open Access Monograph Servicesでのこれまでの研究成果や、2017年9月にKnowledge Exchangeが刊行予定のオープンアクセスの単行書に関する報告書を補うものとして位置付けられています。
