マイクロソフト社の基礎研究部門、Microsoft Researchの研究者らが開発した充電不要・ワイヤレス通信可能な電子ペーパー型ディスプレイについて、複数のメディア等で取り上げられています。
このディスプレイは2016年10月16日から19日にかけて、東京で開催された第29回ACM（Association for Computing Machinery）User Interface Software and Technology Symposiumの中で発表されたものです。ポストイット程度の大きさですが、背面にソーラーパネルを備えており、オフィスの照明程度の明るさでも必要なエネルギーをまかなえるため、充電する必要がないとのことです。また、ワイヤレス通信も可能で、表示内容を遠隔で操作できます。
