2026年1月、独・マックスプランク協会が、Max Planck Information and Technology（MaxIT）を設立したことを発表しました。
総務部門のInformation and Communication Technology Departmentと、Max Planck Digital Library（MPDL）を統合して新設された同協会の中央機関であり、研究支援や情報・ITサービスを担うとされています。
