2025年9月13日、インドの文化省（Ministry of Culture）が同国の写本の保存、デジタル化、普及に向けた国家的イニシアティブ“Gyan Bharatam”を開始したことを発表しました。
9月11日から13日までニューデリーで開催された同省主催の国際会議“Gyan Bharatam International Conference”において、正式な立ち上げが行われたものです。イニシアティブの主な目標としては、1,000万点以上の写本の目録作成とデジタル化、写本の国家的デジタルリポジトリの開設、翻刻等におけるAIや光学文字認識（OCR）、ブロックチェーン技術の活用が挙げられています。
