2024年1月11日、フランス国立科学研究センター（CNRS）が、2023年12月末をもって抄録・引用文献データベースScopusの購読契約を終了したと発表しました。
発表では、この決定は同センターのオープンサイエンス方針に従って、商用の書誌データベースからオープンソースのフリーツールに切り替えるプロセスの第一歩であると述べられています。
なお、同センターの研究者の利用がより多いWeb of Scienceの購読は継続されるとあります。
