2023年3月2日、スペインの文化・スポーツ省が、協同バーチャルレファレンスサービス“Pregunte：Las Bibliotecas Responden”(Ask: the Libraries answer)の2022年統計を公開しました。
“Pregunte：Las Bibliotecas Responden”はスペイン国内の50以上の公共図書館が協力して運営し、ローテーション制によってメール（24時間365日）とチャット（開館時間内）により利用者からの質問に対応するもので、文化・スポーツ省の図書館調整事務局（Subdirección General de Coordinación Bibliotecaria)が統括しています。
2022年は合計で3,897件の質問（電子メール1,831件、チャット2,066件）があったとし、電子メールとチャットそれぞれの利用の属性等についての統計が紹介されています。メールでの問い合わせの大半は図書館情報学などの専門家や学生等によるものであることなどの他に、電子メールとチャットでは回答の精度が異なる場合があること、参加館の回答の不均一が生じているといった課題についてもまとめられています。
