米国議会図書館（LC）の議会調査局（CRS）による、連邦政府議会議員のTwitter使用状況についてのレポートが公表されています。2009年の8月と9月の2か月間について調査したもので、上院・下院をあわせて、総数の約38%に相当する205人の議員がTwitterのアカウントを持っていたとのことです。Tweetの内容では、選挙区や地元州での活動、政策についての発言、メディア出演予告などが多く、フォロワー数は1000人から3000人程度が多いようです。
