米国議会図書館（LC）のTwitterのアーカイブ事業の進捗状況について、LCのブログに記事が掲載されています。広報責任者（Director of Communications）のGayle Osterberg氏によるゲストポストとのことであり、5ページのペーパー（PDF）が添付されています。
これによると、LCは現在までに、2006年以降のツイート1,700億件をアーカイブしているとのことです。また、1日当たりの受入れ件数は、2011年2月時点では1億4,000万件ほどであったものが、2012年10月時点では5億件ほどになっているとのことです。
さらに、現在このアーカイブを研究者が利用できるようにするため技術的課題に取組みに注力していることや、2010年4月のアーカイブ事業開始の公表以来、研究者から400件ほどの質問を受けていることが紹介されています。
