2011年8月10日に、中南米を中心としたスペイン語圏の図書館関係者の間で、ハッシュタグ“#biblioteca”（スペイン語で「図書館」の意味）を使用したツイートを一斉に行い、“#biblioteca”を世界のツイートのトレンドにしようという活動が行われたようです。これは、Twitterのトレンドに“#biblioteca”を表示させることで、図書館の存在を広め、社会における図書館の重要性を再評価してもらうこと等を目的としたもののようです。2011年の今年で3回目の試みとのことで、開始1時間でスペイン語圏のトレンドでは2位になったようですが、残念ながら目標は達成できなかったようです。なお、すでに次回の開催も決定しており、2012年8月10日に行われるようです。
