独マックス・プラング協会（Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Forderung der Wissenschaften e.V: MPG）が、Springer社の自然科学系電子ジャーナル約1,200タイトルの講読を、2008年1月から中止すると報じられています。利用統計の分析、および他の主要出版社と比較から、Springer社に対して、適正価格と考えられる価格の約2倍の価格を支払っていることが判明した、とのことです。
