2022年9月28日、米国議会図書館（LC）は、同館所蔵の200年以上前に作られたフルートを、歌手のLizzo氏がコンサートで演奏したことについてブログ記事を掲載しました。
Lizzo氏がコンサートのためにワシントンD.C.に訪れることを知ったLC館長のCarla Hayden氏のツイートが、今回の試みにつながったとあります。
記事によると、Lizzo氏は9月26日にLCに訪れ、LCが所蔵するフルートの内、ジェームズ・マディソンの大統領再選の際に記念として贈られた、Claude Laurentによる1813年製のクリスタルフルート等の演奏を行いました。そして、9月27日のコンサートでクリスタルフルートの演奏を行えるかLizzo氏から申し出があり、資料保全への最大限の配慮の下、実現されたとあります。
