全米人文学連合（NHA）は、2021年3月9日付けのTwitterにおいて、大学生を人文学分野に呼び込むための戦略に関する調査レポート“Strategies for Recruiting Students to the Humanities: A Comprehensive Resource”の公開を発表しました。
NHAは、アンドリュー・W・メロン財団の支援を受け、大学生を人文学分野に呼び込むための戦略を調査する取組“Study the Humanities”を実施しています。2018年以降、他大学での成功事例に学びたいという人文学コミュニティからの要望に応えて幅広い調査を実施しており、2020年2月には、教員・管理者等を対象とした定量的調査の結果をまとめた調査レポート“Humanities Recruitment Survey: Challenges & Audiences”を公表しました。
今回公開されたレポートは、同取組におけるこれまでの調査を踏まえ、各大学における効果的な戦略を文書化し、人文学コミュニティに広めることを目的に作成されました。100を超える模範的な取組に焦点を当てた内容であり、次の6章構成となっています。
