米国国立航空宇宙局（NASA）、米国農務省（USDA）、米国医療研究・品質庁（Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: AHRQ） が、公的助成による研究成果のパブリックアクセスの方針を公開しています。米国大統領府科学技術政策局（OSTP）が、公的助成による研究成果へのパブリックアクセスを促進させるため、2013年2月22日に、政府機関に対して方針策定を求めた指令に応えるものとのことです。NASA、AHRQの方針は2015年10月から、USDAの方針は2016年1月から実施されるとのことです。
