国際図書館連盟（IFLA）が、年次大会中にトレンドレポート（Trend Report）を公表するとのことで、これに関する情報を小出しに提供しています。
トレンドレポートの作成は、IFLAの重点目標（Key Initiative）の1つめ「デジタルコンテンツプログラム」の1企画で、IFLAの運営理事会（Governing Board）が2011年に設置した運営委員会が進めてきたものとのことです。年次大会のセッション93として行われる全体会（Plenary Session: IFLA Trend Report）のタイミングで正式なリリースとなるようで、オンラインでの公開も予定されています。
内容としては、図書館に影響を与えるデジタル情報環境のトレンドと、その情報環境において図書館が自らをどこに位置づけるのかについて詳細な選択肢を示すものになる、とされています。トレンドは大きく5つにまとめられたようで、8月14日にトレンド1が“New technologies will both expand and limit who has access to information”、8月15日にトレンド2が“Online Education will democratise and disrupt global learning”であることが示され、それぞれ簡略な紹介がなされています。
