2012年8月14日、PLoS ONE、Science Exchange、figshareが“Reproducibility Initiative”を立ち上げました。科学者に対して彼らの研究結果の再現性（reproducibility）を認定する有料サービスを提供するものです。このプロジェクトでは、Science Exchangeのパートナー機関が追試（replication study）を行い、PLoS ONEがその追試結果を掲載し、figshareが関連するデータを登載する場所を提供するという役割分担になっています。認定を受けた研究結果については“Certificate of Reproducibility”が与えられ、Natureなどの提携ジャーナルへ掲載される際に使用できるとされています。Reproducibility Initiativeでは、当面40～50件の申請を受け付けるそうです。
