2024年2月5日、英国物理学会出版局（IOP Publishing）、米国物理学協会の出版部門（AIP Publishing）及び米国物理学会（APS）が、非営利の学術出版社から成る連合体“Purpose-Led Publishing”（PLP）を結成したと発表しました。
発表によると、PLPは、研修・教育プログラム、表彰、助成金などを通じて、物理科学コミュニティの支援を行う団体とあります。
同日付けで公開されたPLPのウェブサイトには、PLPの行動目標として「出版から得た資金を100％科学に投資すること」「利益よりも研究の公正性を優先すること」「非営利の立場を遵守すること」等が掲げられています。
