2010年11月1日、米国ワシントン大学のプロジェクト“Project Information Literacy”が、大学生の情報リテラシーを調査したレポート“Truth Be Told : How College Students Evaluate and Use Information in the Digital Age”を公開しました。レポートは、2010年春に全米の25大学に在籍する8,353名の大学生から得られた回答をもとに作成されたようです。調査からは、たとえ学生自身が情報探索とその情報の評価を行うことに関して自負していたとしても、研究課題に取り組む段階で躓いており、また課題の本質とその範囲の判断に難しさを感じていること等が明らかになったようです。なお、このレポートに言及した記事が、11月4日付のLibrary Journalと11月9日付けのChronicle of Higer Educationにも掲載されています。
