2022年6月9日、オーストラリア図書館協会（ALIA）とオーストラリア・アーキビスト協会（ASA）は、オーストラリア放送協会（ABC）における図書館員・アーキビスト削減に関する共同声明を発表しました。
ABCの代表取締役（Managing Director）のDavid Anderson氏が発表した、ABCの図書館員およびアーキビストの58のポジションを廃止する計画に反対し、同ポジションを維持することを求めています。
加えて、ALIAは、同日付で公開した記事の中で、今回のポスト削減を補うためジャーナリストにこれまで研鑽を積んでいない役割を引き受けさせることは、ジャーナリスト・図書館員・アーキビストのプロ意識への敬意が欠けており、ABCのコレクション維持に打撃を与えるとしています。また、David Anderson氏との対談、ABCのコレクションと専門の図書館員・アーキビストの支援を求めると述べています。
