2022年5月18日、ドイツ研究振興協会（DFG）が、研究評価の基盤としての学術出版に関するポジションペーパー“Academic Publishing as a Foundation and Area of Leverage for Research Assessment: Challenges and Fields of Action”を公開したと発表しました。
発表の中では、同ポジションペーパーの目的として、研究機関や研究助成機関の経営レベルにおいて文化の変化を起こすこと、学術論文の出版や評価において質を第一に考えられるようにすること等を挙げています。
学術出版の定義、学術出版の一般的形式や流通・レビューの方法、発見可能性や研究評価との相補的関係をはじめとした課題、学術コミュニティと助成機関がとるべき行動等についてまとめられています。
