2019年10月1日、英国図書館（BL）は、『ハリー・ポッターと賢者の石』の日本での出版20周年を記念し、特別展「ハリー・ポッターと魔法の歴史」を日本で開催すると発表しました。
BLが2017年に開催した“Harry Potter: A History of Magic”の国際巡回展で、2018年の米・ニューヨーク歴史協会での開催に続くものです。
2020年9月5日から11月8日にかけて兵庫県立美術館（神戸市）で、2020年11月21日から2021年2月7日にかけて東京ステーションギャラリー（東京都千代田区）にて開催されます。
