2018年11月16日、米国の博物館・図書館サービス機構（IMLS）が、2018年度（2017年10月1日から2018年9月30日まで）の業績報告書（Performance and Accountability Report）を公開しました。
2018年から2022年までのIMLSの戦略計画“Transforming Communities”の策定（2018年1月）、政府からの助成金予算の増加、州図書館行政機関による“Transforming Communities”における市民参加（civic engagement）の優先度の増大の指摘、小規模な地方の図書館・博物館を支援する助成事業の開始、“ African American History and Culture grant”の助成数の増加、“Native American Library Services Basic grants”の増額、博物館・図書館がコミュニティに対して社会福祉で貢献するための条件を理解するための調査の開始（2018年8月）、オピオイド危機に対応するための図書館のコミュニティとの協力方法を調査する米国公共図書館協会（PLA）との共同調査に対してOCLCへ資金提供を実施、といった点が掲載されています。
