2018年10月22日、米・シカゴ美術館（Art Institute of Chicago）が、ウェブサイトのリニューアルを発表し、あわせて、5万2,438点の所蔵作品の画像をクリエイティブ・コモンズ・ライセンスのCC0ライセンスのもと公開しました。
公開画像は定期的に追加するとしています。
