2017年5月1日、Open Knowledge International（OKI）が、世界の政府のオープンデータを評価した“Global Open Data Index（GODI）”の第4版を公開したと発表しています。
これは、94の国・地域の政府について、15の主要なカテゴリごとにデータセットをOKIが評価したものです。今回は1,410のデータセットを評価したところ、約10％に当たる149のデータセットのみが「オープン」であったとのことです。
上位はオーストラリアと台湾が1位、フランスと英国が3位となっています。日本は13位で、2015年は31位（122の国・地域が対象）でした。
