2026年2月23日、国際図書館連盟（IFLA）が、ユネスコが2026年に公表した文化・クリエイティブ産業政策に関する報告書“Re|shaping policies for creativity”第4版について、図書館の役割に焦点を当てて紹介しています。
同報告書は、2005年にユネスコで採択された「文化的表現の多様性の保護及び促進に関する条約」の実施状況を分析するシリーズの最新版で、120か国以上のデータを基に、デジタルトランスフォーメーション（DX）や人工知能（AI）の進展等が文化・クリエイティブ産業に与える影響を包括的に示しています。
IFLAの紹介によると、同報告書では図書館が、文化的権利の保障、デジタルエクイティの実現、文化的表現の多様性の促進を支える不可欠な文化的基盤として位置付けられているとされています。
