2014年2月12日、生涯投稿料モデルを打ち出したオープンアクセス誌PeerJがはじめて論文を公開してから1周年を迎えました。PeerJのブログによれば創刊からの1年間で、PeerJとPeerJ Preprintsをあわせると約500本の論文が公開されたとのことです。また、所属する研究者の料金を所属機関が負担するPeerJ機関版についても、米スタンフォード大学など9機関が新たに参加し、参加機関数は20館になったとのことです。
PeerJでは創刊1周年を記念し、PeerJスタッフが500本の論文の中から選んだ20本を紹介する”PeerJ Picks 2014 Collection”を発表したほか、Tシャツのプレゼント企画も行っています。また、PeerJの共同創設者、Jason Hoyt氏とPete Binfield氏への創刊1周年インタビューもブログに掲載されています。
