2014年1月22日、OCLCはFirstSearchとWorldCat Localの機能を統合した、クラウドベースのサービス“WorldCat Discovery Services”の提供を予定していると発表しました。
WorldCat Discovery Servicesは、世界中の図書館の13億件以上の電子リソースと冊子体を、WorldCatと2,000近くの電子コレクションのインデックスを通じて一度に検索できるサービスとのことです。
同サービスは、2014年3月に、FirstSearchの参加館向けに公開を予定しているとのことです。この新しいサービスを紹介するためのウェブセミナーも予定されています。
