2013年4月8日、Cengage Learning傘下のGale社が、AP通信社と、同社の企業アーカイブの資料を電子化することについて合意したと発表しています。同社のアーカイブにはニュースのコピー、書簡、記者のパーソナルレポートなど数百万ページに渡るコンテンツが所蔵されているとのことであり、電子化の対象には、未出版のコンテンツも含まれているようです。
Gale社は昨年6月に「ナショナルジオグラフィック」（National Geographic）誌と、今年2月には米国スミソニアン協会と大型のパートナーシップを提携しており、この合意はこれに続くもののようです。
