2011年4月27日付けで、北米の研究図書館・大学図書館のコンソーシアムである研究図書館センター（CRL）が、“Preserving News in the Digital Environment: Mapping the Newspaper Industry in Transition”を公開しています。このレポートは、新聞やニュースサイトでコンテンツとして掲載・配信されたニュースの「ライフサイクル」を分析したもので、新聞記事とニュースサイトの記事コンテンツの間の関係を明らかにしたものとのことです。CRLの説明によると、レポートの分析は図書館が電子媒体の新聞を保存する際に、合理的で効率的な戦略を立てるための基準を示すものであるとのことです。
