2020年8月26日、米国のMLAおよびその他の文化資源保存機関の連携促進を目的とする非営利組織Educopia Instituteは、“Next Generation Library Publishing（NGLP）”について、プロジェクトの価値観・原則のフレームワークと評価チェックリストを表したツールとして、“Values and Principles Framework and Assessment Checklist”の草案を公開したことを発表しました。
NGLPはArcadia基金による助成の下、Educopia Instituteや米・カリフォルニア電子図書館（CDL）等が主導するプロジェクトです。図書館による出版活動の支援を目的に、学術出版インフラの強化・統合・拡張等を通して、著者・編集者・読者に提供される出版経路の改善を目指しています。“Values and Principles Framework and Assessment Checklist”は、出版ツール・サービス・プラットフォームと最終的なサービス提供者である学術コミュニティ・出版者との間の強固な連携関係を評価・促進する目的で作成されました。
NGLPは2020年9月30日を期限として、“Values and Principles Framework and Assessment Checklist”の草案へのパブリックコメントを実施しており、フィードバックの結果を踏まえて2021年に本運用を開始する予定です。
