2017年11月28日、英国王立協会は、同協会が発行した学術雑誌のバックナンバーのデジタルコレクション“Royal Society Journal Collection: Science in the making”を2018年1月24日まで無料で公開すると発表しています。
1665年創刊の『フィロソフィカル・トランザクションズ』から、同協会が学術雑誌の電子出版を開始する直前の1996年までに発行した雑誌の74万ページ分をフルカラーでデジタル化したものです。
『フィロソフィカル・トランザクションズ』に掲載された影響力のある論文のリスト“a list of some influential papers”も併せて公開されています。
同デジタルコレクションへの恒久的なアクセスやリポジトリへの投入、データマイニングが可能な拡張版の購入も可能となっています。
