2017年10月25日、アイルランド保健省傘下の研究助成機関Health Research Board（HRB）が、同機関の助成を受けた研究成果のオープンアクセス出版プラットフォームHRB Open Researchを、2018年2月から開始すると発表しました。
HRB Open ResearchはF1000によって構築・運用されるもので、HRBの助成を受けた成果であって、公開・共有にふさわしいと著者らが考えるものであればなんでも公開することが可能です。費用はHRBが負担します。F1000が政府系助成機関の助成研究成果プラットフォームを手掛けるのは初めてとのことです。
