米・トランプ新政権が2017年3月16日に発表した2018会計年度予算案において、博物館・図書館サービス機構（IMLS）、国立芸術基金（NEA）、全米人文科学基金（NEH）への予算措置が行われないことを受け、各団体が声明を発表しています。
また、同日、米国図書館協会（ALA）が、この予算案について「非生産的で近視眼的だ」との声明を発表しています。
