2015年11月17日、UNESCOの第38回総会において、博物館に関する新しい勧告“Recommendation on the Protection and Promotion of Museums and Collections, their Diversity and their Role in Society”が採択されたとのことです。
加盟国の政策立案担当者に向けたもので、現代における博物館の社会的役割等を示した国際的なスタンダードとのことです。
国際博物館会議（ICOM）日本委員会で日本語訳を準備中とのことです。
