2026年10月、オープンアクセス学術出版協会（OASPA）、DOAJ、出版倫理委員会（COPE）、世界医学雑誌編集者協会（WAME）は、協働で策定した指針“Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing”の第5版を公開したと発表しました。
この指針は、学術出版におけるベストプラクティスの基盤となることを目的としています。第5版では、人工知能（AI）ガバナンス、ハイジャックジャーナル及びドメインに関するセキュリティ対策強化、編集の独立性と公正性に関する指針の拡充、不正行為及び査読方針の更新などの重要なアップデートが含まれているとしています。
