2025年8月12日付けで英国図書館（BL）のブログ“The Newsroom”に、公共図書館法（Public Library Act）制定175周年を記念し、同国の公共図書館の歴史を紹介する記事“The Radical Act behind your local library: Celebrating 175 years of public libraries”が掲載されています。
1850年に同法がイングランド及びウェールズで制定されてから2025年で175年となるのを踏まえ、記事では、制定当時の議論、初期の公共図書館の様子、現代との違い等についてBLが所蔵する新聞資料とともに紹介されています。
