2025年7月8日、オープンアクセスリポジトリ連合（COAR）が、リポジトリのディレクトリサービス“COAR International Repository Directory”（COAR IRD）の公開を発表しました。
COAR IRDはリポジトリに関する信頼できる情報源として、リポジトリの最新状況を正確かつタイムリーに提供することを目的としたサービスで、リポジトリに使用されているプラットフォームの種類、収録コンテンツの範囲、所属機関等の情報が含まれているとあります。
情報のキュレーションは、責任組織（Responsible Organisation）と呼ばれるコミュニティの主導で行われ、日本からはオープンアクセスリポジトリ推進協会（JPCOAR）が責任組織となっています。
