インドで図書館が襲撃される

インドのインパール地方Central Library of the State of Manipurが4月13日、襲撃され、約15万冊が損失したそうです。
MEELALという過激派の犯行。MEELALは300年使われてきたBengali alphabetという活字を廃して、Manipur’s ancient Meetei Mayek scriptを使うべきだと主張する活動を行っており、その一環としてBengali alphabetを使った書物を所蔵する図書館を襲撃したと言っている。
