2013年4月25日、米国議会図書館が、9月に開催される”National Book Festival”において、第1回Library of Congress Prize for American Fictionを、米国作家ドン・デリーロ氏に贈ると発表しました。この賞は、一連の作品が芸術を極めているだけでなく、思考力と想像力の独創性も際立っている米国の作家に贈られる賞とのことです。
ドン・デリーロ氏の代表作には、全米図書賞を受賞した「ホワイト・ノイズ」等があります。
