2013年2月18日、英国図書館（BL）が、英国の放送大学（Open University）により昨年12月に立ちあげられたMOOC（Massive Open Online Course）プラットフォーム“FutureLearn”に参加することを発表しました。BLは、同館のデジタル化資料の提供を行います。同時に、バース大学、レスター大学、ノッティンガム大学、クイーンズ大学ベルファスト校、リーディング大学の5大学も参加を発表し、参加機関は計18となっています。なお、大学以外の機関のFutureLearnへの参加はBLが初となります。
