オーストラリアの各紙やオーストラリア図書館協会（ALIA）のブログ記事が、クイーンズランド州における洪水による図書館や美術館等の被害状況について報じています。それによると、1月10日までに、州内の約25の学校図書館が洪水被害を受けており、そのうち数館は壊滅的被害を受けている、クイーンズランド州立図書館は1月11日から14日まで閉館している、ブリスベーンの図書館や美術館等がコレクションを高台へ避難させる作業にあたっている、とのことです。また1月13日現在、クイーンズランド州立図書館のホームページにアクセスできなくなっているようです。この状況に対し、ALIAは協会のホームページ上で、ALIA参加メンバー等に対して寄付を呼び掛けているようです。
